Maps collected through Sept. 5, and you can win prizes

Walk Polk County (WPC) is in full swing and you are invited to join for the final month.

All Polk County residents are encouraged to join in the fun as completed WPC maps will be collected through September 5. Participation is free and is open and encouraged for community members of all ages. Participants can sign up to receive weekly motivational e-mails to keep themon track and moving. Whatever your style, there are many types of activity that count toward completing your WPC maps: walking, biking, rollerblading, swimming, dancing, gardening, raking, jogging, even mowing or cleaning…anything that keeps you moving.

Walk Polk County is simply the spark to keep movement a part of your everyday routine. As an extra incentive, drawings are held every two weeks for small prizes and five $20 grand cash prize will be drawn at the end. Every map you complete increases your chances of winning.

If you are interested in participating, email: with WPC in the subject line for a map or pick up your map at Polk County Public Health in Crookston (816 ½ Marin Avenue), East Grand Forks (1424 Central Ave) or McIntosh (250 Cleveland Ave.).  You can also download your own map at Search: Walk Polk County
