CHS gets the most online votes, wins $6,000 Scheels gift certificate.
Well how about that? Crookston High School’s entry in the Scheels “Back to Practice” essay contest received more votes online than its two fellow finalists and as a result wins $6,000.
Scheels announced the trio of finalists on July 6 and let people commence with an online voting blitz. Besides CHS, the two other finalists were Valley Middle School in East Grand Forks, and Holy Family-St. Mary’s School in Grand Forks. The second and third place prizes are $3,000 and $1,000, respectively.
The $6,000 comes in the form of a Scheels gift certificate. CHS Activities Director Greg Garmen says the money will be invested in equipment for the weight room.
Garmen also thanks everyone who voted for the CHS essay entry.
