DOC says Jonah Hawkins may have traveled to North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas, Florida, or Arizona.

The Minnesota Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a Level 3 predatory offender last seen about a month ago leaving his residence in Halstad, Minnesota, who is no longer complying with the conditions of his release from prison.

Jonah James Hawkins was released from prison on April 22, 2015 to Intensive Supervised Release by the DOC. He has been on fugitive status since June 27, when he absconded from his supervision. Hawkins may have traveled to North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas, Florida, or Arizona.

A required public meeting hosted by the DOC on Hawkins’ release status was held in Crookston in June of 2015 because Hawkins was working in Crookston while living in Halstad.

Hawkins is 26 years old. He is Caucasian, has black hair and blue eyes, and is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs 137 pounds.

Hawkins has a criminal history that includes a conviction for Criminal Sexual Conduct 2nd Degree against a juvenile female. At the 2015 meeting in Crookston, it was stated that Hawkins’ history included sexual contact with a three year old female that he knew, and that he also had a similar history with additional female minor victims. He was accused of his crimes in Cass County in North Dakota and Norman County in Minnesota.

Hawkins is required to be registered until April 22, 2025 and will be under correctional supervision until October 1, 2023. He has four people on his “supervision team.”

Citizens should not attempt to confront Hawkins. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the DOC Fugitive Hotline at 651-603-0026.
