Fishermen discover them on Red River near Oslo

    A human skull, bones and clothing were found Saturday along the banks of the Red River near Oslo by two men fishing on a boat.

    The Polk County Sheriff’s Office received the 911 call at around 2:42 p.m. Saturday from the boater, who reported what appeared to be human remains on the east bank of the river. Deputies responded to Section 29 in Higdem Township and recovered the remains, which have been transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Grand Forks.

    The investigation continues.
