She'll be a senior at CHS in the fall

Starting this week, the Crookston Daily Times welcomes Maddie Everett as their new summer intern.

Maddie is the daughter of Trey and Corene Everett, and has two younger siblings, Zoe and Jack.  She is originally from Missouri but has lived in Crookston for 11 years. She is a senior at Crookston High School, where she has participated in plays in the theatre department and is part of the small orchestral group Valley Fiddlers.  This year she was also a part of the Crookston Envirothon team that placed third at state.

Maddie enjoys playing her violin and reading books, specifically classics and mysteries.  After high school she plans to attend college for English Literature and become a literature professor.

Maddie says she is very excited for an interesting and enriching summer at the Times.

The Times has employed, and been able to pay, a high school summer intern for several years, through an annual program sponsored by the Carl and Eloise Pohlad Foundation and the Minnesota Newspaper Association that each summer employs dozens of similar interns at newspapers across the state.
