Event will include panel discussion featuring manufacturers from the region

    On Tuesday, May 23, Enterprise Minnesota will be in Bemidji to unveil the results of its ninth annual State of Manufacturing® survey, which provides key insights on Minnesota’s manufacturing outlook and the top issues facing the industry. The State of Manufacturing is the most comprehensive survey of Minnesota's manufacturers.

    The event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at the Northwest Minnesota Foundation office at 201 3rd St. NW in Bemidji.

     Enterprise Minnesota conducted phone surveys with over 400 Minnesota manufacturing executives and held focus groups across the state to understand manufacturers’ perceptions and opinions on current economic conditions and other factors impacting business.

    The survey data will be analyzed by region to provide greater local insights.

    This is an important event celebrating northwest Minnesota’s manufacturing industry and it is open to manufacturers and other businesses supporting the industry, educators, elected officials, economic development professionals, granting agencies and members of the media. Attendees will receive a book revealing a compilation of the results and a summary of the findings.

    The event will feature:

    • A briefing of the 2017 survey results
    • A panel discussion moderated by Bob Kill, president and CEO, Enterprise Minnesota

    Panel members include Steve Cochems, president, Anderson Fabrics, Blackduck; Dave Goetz, CEO, Cass Forest Products, Cass Lake; and, Steve Palmer, president and CEO, North Central Door Company, Bemidji.
