According to the Polk County Highway Department, Polk County Highway 18 from U.S. Highway 2 to Polk County Highway 17 has been posted down from 9 tons per axle to 7 tons per axle due to pavement deterioration over the past two weeks.

   According to the Polk County Highway Department, Polk County Highway 18 from U.S. Highway 2 to Polk County Highway 17 has been posted down from 9 tons per axle to 7 tons per axle due to pavement deterioration over the past two weeks. The existing bituminous has areas that have deteriorated beyond repair and will need patching this summer.  The public should be aware of the areas and drive cautiously.
