Four of 41 units available, less than a month after The Meadows opens
The Meadows, Crookston’s new, 41-unit market rate apartment complex next to Drafts and Crookston Sports Center, is almost full, less than a month after opening.
That’s the word from Craig Hoiseth, executive director of the Crookston Housing & Economic Development Authority.
Hoiseth said he checked in with the complex’s owner, Northridge Hospitality Management, and was told that the only apartments available for lease are one 1-bedroom unit, one 2-bedroom unit, and two studio units.
Perhaps just as important, he added, is that when he checked in with downtown building owners that are home to rental units and building owners who are currently rehabbing upper-level apartments to rent, the indication he got was that demand from tenants “hasn’t really softened…there’s still a demand for more rental properties to be developed downtown.”
“There was a little nervousness from some about bringing a 41-unit market rate development online, but demand seems to be holding steady,” Hoiseth said.
