The board accepted two staff resignations, from CHS Spanish teacher Katherine Berg, effective at the end of the year, and from Bill Gillette, assistant boys’ soccer coach.

Items of note from this week’s Crookston School Board meeting:

   • The board accepted two staff resignations, from CHS Spanish teacher Katherine Berg, effective at the end of the year, and from Bill Gillette, assistant boys’ soccer coach.

    • The board approved salary lane advancement requests from teachers Rachel Hurner and Erin Marsyla, both of whom are advancing from BA to BA+10s, and from Laurie Wavra, from MA to MA+10s.

    • Board Chair Frank Fee said board members and administrators are starting to make public presentations on the trio of ballot questions totaling almost $10.6 million that will go before school district residents later this spring. First up, Fee, Superintendent Chris Bates, Activities Director Greg Garmen and Transportation, Buildings and Grounds Coordinator Rick Niemela will present to the Crookston Lions Club on March 13, at their weekly noon meeting at the American Legion. Fee said he encourages all clubs, groups, agencies and organizations who want to learn more about the ballot proposals to ask for a presentation.
