It makes it a lot easier for firefighters to access them, Froeber says, when snow is cleared away.

Crookston Fire Chief Tim Froeber is asking Crookston residents to continue to adopt any fire hydrants near their properties by maintaining a three-foot radius free of snow around them. Or, if you see a hydrant partially or fully covered by snow, he asks that you adopt it and clear the snow.

“The snow keeps falling and it’s piling up, and if people could help us out a little bit it makes it so much easier when we need to get to those hydrants,” Froeber said.
