Wednesday, at the local North Country Food Bank, you could find a group of devoted college kids donating their time and energy to pack up boxes of food for those in need. These boxes go to the Mothers and Children program (MAC) or to the Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors (NAPS). These programs serve about 21 counties and reach from Baudette to Traverse County.

The group of volunteers comes from Pathways Bible Ministry, who are at Trinity Lutheran Church this week leading the Vacation Bible School. All of these young adults work at the Pathways camp during the summer and come from the towns of Moorhead, Sebeka, Fisher and Crookston.  They arrived in Crookston on Sunday, ready to volunteer, and left Thursday to go back to their camp counseling duties.

Ben Nicholas, Crookston High School Class of 2007, is part of this Pathways team and it is no surprise he is donating his time yet again to service projects. He's been actively involved in Students Today Leaders Forever (STLF) since his high school days, and also was active in the CHS Leo Club.

Today, their last day in Crookston, Nicholas and the Pathways team are volunteering at the Care and Share Center.

"We couldn't do this all year without Trinity," said Lori A. Tate, CSFP program coordinator for North Country Food Bank. "It takes volunteer hours to make this whole program run."
