The Pirates of the Week are announced each week and chosen by their respective coaches.
Dylan Klatt - Boys' Hockey
Head Coach Jon Bittner says, “Dylan recorded a big game against Park Rapids this past week. Dylan is a returning letterwinning junior right wing and has been a big part of his regular shift, power play and man short. He is also a captain for this year’s Pirates. Dylan is an important member and contributor for this year’s Pirates.”
Kollin Erdman - Boys' Hockey
Head Coach Jon Bittner says, “Kollin recorded a shut out in this past week’s victory against Park Rapids. Kollin is a senior goaltender and an anchor for the Pirates in the nets, having started every game for the Pirates this season. We look for his strong performances and steadying play as we close out the rest of the regular season and enter into tournaments.”
Curtis Regan - Boys' Hockey
Head Coach Jon Bittner says, “Curtis recorded his 1st and 2nd goals of the season this past week against Warroad and Park Rapids. Curtis has a great attitude and works hard each and every practice and game. He is a great person and student as well as being a part of the Pirate varsity this season.”
Kaitlin Spivey - Girls' Hockey
Assistant Coach Jaclyn Martin says, “Kaitlin has been a solid defenseman for us all year. At the beginning of the year she was battling an injury but worked her way back into the lineup. Kaitlin has improved massively from last year and continues each game. Her awareness, speed and intensity on the ice is a large part of our defense. She never gives up and is always battling for the puck. Kaitlin, a junior, will be a defenseman to continue to watch for, especially in section play.”
Brooke Heggie - Girls' Basketball
Head Coach Lon Boike says, “Brooke, a 6'1" freshman, scored 19 points in a game vs. Norman County East last Thursday and 9 points in a big win vs. Thief River Falls last Friday night. Brooke has shown steady improvement throughout the season and is making valuable contributions on the varsity team!”
Preston Desrosier - Wrestling
Head Coach Chad Hitchen says, “Wrestling’s Pirate of the Week is seventh grader Preston Desrosier. This is Preston's first year on the varsity and he has made huge improvements from the beginning of the year. Preston got a big pin in Fosston for the Pirates last week.”
