The second annual Shirley's BRAdway Show to benefit cancer research will take place at the Northland Inn in Crookston on Sept. 17, beginning with social hour at 7 p.m. and a comedy show featuring Twin Cities Comedian Maxine Jeffries at 8 p.m. Tickets for the event go on sale Friday, Aug. 27.
Tickets are $35 and available at RiverView Gift Shop, Eagle/Thrifty White Drug, Montague's Flower Shop or by calling Theresa Tahran at 281-1951. Don't delay; last year's tickets went fast.
Hors d' oeuvres will be served and a cash bar will be available. A number of
fundraising activities, including a silent auction, will take place throughout the evening. Short testimonials from cancer survivors will also be given during the program.
Renee Rongen will be the emcee. Jeffries has made several appearances on Jay Leno's Tonight Show and is a popular performer in the metro area.
To further the effort to raise Cancer awareness, bring bras to donate that evening. The donated bras will be used to create a garland that will be on display outside the former Eagle Drug building on Broadway for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
Both men and women are encouraged to join. Any corporate and individual sponsorships, promotional commitments and door prize contributions made will be greatly appreciated.
