Downtown Square is the place to be
The King of Trails Market Day will be held Saturday, Sept 13. Crookston's Marketplace will be one of many held that day along Highway 75's 411-mile route, promoted as "400 miles of great bargains" from Minnesota's north border to its southern boundary.
The Crookston Chamber of Commerce is looking for vendors who may be interested in setting up a booth and selling their wares. Everyone and anyone is welcome, including flea market vendors, antique dealers, people selling rummage sale items, church groups as well as arts and crafts vendors.
The Marketplace will be held at Downtown Square with the Blue Arena at Crookston Sports Center serving as the alternate site in the event of inclement weather.
Pre-registration is required to participate in the Marketplace, with the cost for a 10' x 10' space being $25 if registered before Sept. 5. Any bookings after this date will be charged $30 per space. To reserve a spot, contact the Crookston Chamber and Visitor's Bureau at 281-4320 or visitcrookston.com.
Local residents are also encouraged to participate in the annual, city-wide garage sale in conjunction with Market Day. Maps will be provided to the public with the addresses of the garage sales, along with the hours of operation. These maps will be distributed at the Marketplace at Downtown Square, which will serve as a headquarters, as well as at local gas stations. There is no charge to list a garage sale. If interested, call or e-mail the Chamber Office or register at visitcrookston.com.
Highway 75 was designated as the Historic King of Trails by the Minnesota Legislature in 2002, and designated as a Minnesota Scenic Byway in 2004.
