  •     Attention Castle Park Enthusiasts!!  A month has already come and gone and we are fast approaching the next KIDS AT CASTLE event which will be next Monday, August 11.  As a reminder – these events will be every 2nd Monday of the month from 6:00-7:30 p.m.   Our first event creating mud pies and tree cookies was a big hit with the community and the Kids at Castle Committee is hoping for an even bigger and better turn-out next Monday!
First and foremost – we want to thank those that contributed in a variety of ways to our first event to make it a success.  We are so grateful to be a part of community where everyone is willing to play their part in providing these events that promote health and wellness in our children and families!
        Thank you to the following:
        • Sun-Opta – seed donation for mud pies and a treat
        • Montagues, Crookston Floral, D & D’s Thomforde Garden Center – flower/plant donation for mud pie décor
        • Punky Johnson, Sue Murphy – donation of items to help in mud pie creations
        • Francine & Rodd Olson – tree cookie donation and preparation
        • Marcia Meine – providing back-up water source
        • City of Crookston – mowing and preparing Castle Park and the use of the water tank truck to make one awesome mud hill and a much needed clean-up station
        • Polk County Public Health/SHIP (Statewide Health Improvement Program) – advertising help
        • Crookston Daily Times/KROX: help in advertising and promoting the events
        • Kids at Castle Committee Members:  Punky Johnson, Sue Murphy, Tamy Kraft, Alyssa Zimmerle, Francine Olson for your time, support and assistance with the first event.
We hope to see you next Monday, August 11 for our Finding Peace in Nature event from 6:00-7:30 p.m. More community members will be sharing their gifts with us.  Local artist Trey Everett will guide us in creating our own drawing while being inspired by the beauty of nature.  Megan Scott will continue our quest for serenity by leading us in Tai Chi.  This will be a wonderful event for family members of ALL ages!  Join us as we make these efforts to provide healthy and meaningful choices easier for you and your family!
Stay Tuned to the Crookston Times and KROX for upcoming details of the next Kids at Castle Events.
