Robin Brekken resigned earlier this month
A “very encouraged” Crookston School District Superintendent Chris Bates told the Times Wednesday that six school district residents have expressed an interest in finishing the Crookston School Board term of Robin Brekken, who resigned earlier this month.
“I think that’s very good, a great number,” Bates said.
After the November 2014 election, Brekken’s former seat will have two years remaining.
Today, June 25, is the final day that people can indicate their interest in being appointed to the seat by notifying Marilyn Wahouske at the school district office.
Although the board isn’t scheduled to meet again until July 21, Bates said it’s his understanding that the six people seeking the board seat will be interviewed by some board members as soon as next week.
