  • Onetime Miss Crookston and CHS graduate Michelle Stahlecker added another crown to her growing collection when she was crowned 2014 Miss Heart of the Lakes Saturday in Perham, Minn. That means the daughter of Trent and Kathy Stahlecker of Crookston will, as she did in 2012 as Miss Thief River Falls, compete in the Miss Minnesota Pageant in the summer of 2015 in the hopes of advancing to the Miss America Pageant. She will spend the next year doing public speaking and other outreach projects in her district. Stahlecker bested six other contestants in Saturday’s pageant. Her younger sister, Kayla, who will be a sophomore at CHS in the fall, currently holds the Miss Grand Cities
    Teen crown.
