Desrosier and Epema get wins on the mound.

The Crookston Legion baseball team has started its season on fire, winning its first seven games, including a doubleheader sweep at Warroad Thursday. Crookston got brilliant pitching performances from Seth Desrosier and Parker Epema for 3-1 and 7-4 victories.

In game one, Desrosier struck out six and allowed just three hits in seven innings of work. All of his support came in the third inning on runs from Cody Magsam, Desrosier himself and Cody Wardner. Warroad scored a run in the fourth but Desrosier shut it down the rest of the way.

In game two, Epema also struck out six in his seven-inning victory. Warroad jumped out to a 1-0 lead after the first inning and both teams scored two runs in the third inning with Desrosier and Tanner Reinhart scoring for Crookston. Crookston tied it in the fifth on a run by Magsam but Warroad kept its lead with a run in the bottom of the inning. Crookston scored four runs in the seventh to win with Chris Wavra, Desrosier, Ryan Porter and Aaron Hollcraft each scoring with two outs.

The 7-0 Crookston team will host Roseau in a doubleheader Tuesday, June 24, beginning at 5 p.m.
