South Washington Ave will be closed for water service, Customer Appreciation Week is June 23-27 and a fire destroys building in Esther Township
A trio of local news briefs for your perusal:
• WATER SERVICE – South Washington Ave. in Crookston will be closed to through traffic June 24-27 for a water main replacement project. The Crookston Water Department alerts residents in that area that water service will be shut off in the 900 and 1000 blocks of Washington on June 24 until the work is completed.
• THANKS, CUSTOMERS – Customer Appreciation Week, coordinated by the Crookston Chamber & Visitors Bureau and member businesses, is June 23-27. As part of the celebration, everyone is invited to a Customer Appreciation Dinner on Tuesday, June 24 beginning at 5 p.m. at Downtown Square. A pulled-pork sandwich and side fixings will be served up, while supplies last.
• FIRE DESTROYS BUILDING – The Polk County Sheriff's Office reports that a fire reported at around 8:23 a.m. on Thursday destroyed a 40 x 50 foot shop building at 45832 140th St. NW in Esther Township. No was one hurt.
The Alvarado and Oslo fire departments fought the fire.
