  •     Dear Mr. Mayor and City Council Members:
Whether you believed an RV park in Castle Park was a good idea or not, the opinions expressed over the past five weeks really stirred up a lot of discussion and energy in Crookston.
Many people spoke passionately about what Castle Park means to them in keeping it a lasting natural space for everyone to enjoy for generations to come.
Thanks to a 5-4 vote, that is now a reality.
Regardless of which way your vote was cast, simply stated:  a big thanks to all of you for engaging in a process which was welcoming of community input and for listening to the wishes of the people who call this place home.
What I also heard last night is that this one vote does not mean that our work is done.
You issued a call to action in taking the  enthusiasm of these past weeks and turning it into even more positive opportunities to enhance C-Town.
There are many ways for us to show our support; one of them is by volunteering to serve in whatever ways we can.
The Crookston Beautification Committee, RSVP, Hospice, Crookston In-Motion, and the Crookston Area Community Fund are always seeking volunteers, to name a few.  And after last night, there are going to be even more opportunities at Castle Park.
I hope the phone calls and letters you receive over the coming days are from people saying that they are here to help.
