  • The Pirate baseball team lost a heartbreaker Thursday 3-2 to Badger/Greenbush-Middle River in the bottom of the seventh in Greenbush, Minn.
"We did everything well against B/G-MR," Pirate head coach Mitch Bakken said. "For some reason we are still having base running mistakes and missed signs that are possibly costing us runs. I'm not sure why we are still having these issues but we need to fix them if we expect to have any success the rest of the season. The ability is there, but the mental lapses continue to kill us. I hope we can get focused up for the final leg of this season and into playoffs."
The Pirates are now 2-7 on the season, losing their last three games.
Crookston got out to a 2-1 lead with two runs in the top of the second. Badger/Greenbush-Middle River tied it up with a run in the fourth before the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh with two outs.
