  • Girls' golf: Pirates win own invitational

  • The Pirate girls' golf team finished first at the Crookston Invitational at Minakwa Golf Course Thursday with a score of 391. The Pirates had two of the top three scores on the day.
    Eighth grader Ally Tiedemann carded an 85, which tied her with East Grand Forks' Kelsey Schlenk for medalist. Freshman Maddie Nicholls shot an 89 to finish third. Junior Abby Parr shot a 100 and sophomore Emily Ricord shot a 117 to round out Crookston's team score.
    Roseau finished five strokes behind Crookston.
    Crookston's other team competing placed fifth with a score of 499.
    The Pirates compete Monday in Thief River Falls, Minn. at Thief River Golf Club.
