Japan is the largest market for U.S. hard red spring wheat, annually purchasing of more than 50 million bushels. The country also buys significant amounts of hard red winter wheat and white wheat.
The North Dakota Wheat Commission is hosting the millers on Thursday and Friday.
The commission says the group will meet with wheat breeders and quality researchers at NDSU and discuss ongoing biotech research in wheat.
The group also will visit a grain elevator facility and receive an update on the outlook for the 2014 spring wheat crop.
