Michael Hefta, Cody Klamm, A.J. Biermaier, Kal Salentiny, Lizzy Awender, Amber Trostad and Blake Bergeron received Senior Awards for being involved in three sports for all four years of high school.

Blake Bergeron and Amber Trostad were selected as Crookston High School athletes of the year at Monday’s Triple A Awards Banquet. Bergeron won the Willis Eide Male Athlete of the Year Award and Trostad won the Carla Johnson Female Athlete of the Year Award.


The athletics award winners from Monday’s Triple A Awards Banquet at Crookston High School include: Kennedy Resendiz (RiverView Orthopedic Clinic Scholarship), A.J. Biermaier (Senior Award, U.S. Marine Corp. Distinguished Athlete Award), Lizzy Awender (Senior Award, Lions Award of Excellence, Donnie Lauf Memorial Softball Award, Army Reserve National Scholar Athlete), Amber Trostad (Senior Award, Lions Award of Excellence), Carly Welter (Lions Award of Excellence, U.S. Marine Corp. Distinguished Athlete Award), Michael Hefta (Senior Award, Army Reserve National Scholar Athlete and RiverView Orthopedic Clinic Scholarship), Brady Heppner (Lions Award of Excellence), Nate Merten (Lions Award of Excellence), Blake Bergeron (Lions Award of Excellence, Senior Award) and Cody Klamm (Senior Award), Kal Salentiny (Senior Award) and Kari Harter (Sam Moscatelli Outstanding Service to Pirate Athletics Award).


Lee Meier won the Lions Coach of the Year Award. He was an assistant boys' tennis coach for 18 years.
