  • Police say a 19-year-old Minot man threw a shock absorber on a bonfire that exploded and injured five people.
The Ward County Sheriff's Department says four people are still hospitalized. Some of them have serious injuries.
The man is facing a felony count of endangering by fire explosion. He has not appeared in court yet.
The sheriff's department and the Minot Police department responded to a call about a loud party Saturday night around 11:30 p.m. but the majority of the partygoers were gone when officers arrived. Police later learned about the explosion, investigated and took the man into custody Wednesday.
He is being held in the Minot County Jail.
