  • Longtime Crookston High School science teacher and boys’ basketball coach Greg Garmen and current Crookston Parks & Recreation supervisor and Pirate football coach Scott Butt are two of the four finalists who will be interviewed on Tuesday, April 29 for the Activities Director position at the high school.
The two other interviewees are Josh Hardy of Fisher, who’s an assistant Pirate boys’ hockey coach, and Dave Cresap, AD at Perham High School.
Crookston School District Superintendent Chris Bates announced the four finalists on Thursday. He said he was hoping that 12 to 15 would apply for the job, and that 19 did.
The CHS AD position is in the midst of a transition. Current Activities Director Don Donarski, who’s also been performing some dean of students duties at CHS, will become the full-time dean in the fall. The new job description for the AD position is still full-time, but also includes teaching two class periods per day.
“It’s an interesting group of people who bring different things to the table,” Bates told the Times. “I think the contrasts in things that each of them offer is a good thing.”
