Bakken-Dryden leave of absence, Ingersoll leave of absence, and CHS counselor interviews
BAKKEN-DRYDEN LEAVE OF ABSENCE: The board approved teacher Tom Bakken-Dryden’s request for a one year leave of absence for the 2014-15 school year. He teaches at the Northern Lights Academy in the Red River Juvenile Detention Center. Bakken-Dryden thanked the board, citing the short notice, but said an opportunity in California presented itself and he wants to pursue it. Board member Dave Davidson said Bakken-Dryden has served the district extremely well for many years and that he hopes he will return for the 2015-16 school year.
INGERSOLL LEAVE OF ABSENCE: The board approved third grade teacher Andrea Ingersoll’s requested leave of absence from approximately the middle of October 2014 to around Jan. 5, 2015. Superintendent Chris Bates said finding a long-term substitute shouldn’t be a problem.
CHS COUNSELOR INTERVIEWS: Bates said four finalists seeking to succeed the retiring Jackie Robertson as CHS counselor were interviewed Monday and that all four were worthy of being hired. The interview panel is discussing its next step, he said.
