  • We are in full swing of the 2014 NCAA “March Madness” Tournament and it has been one of the most upsetting tournaments for bracketologists ever in my opinion.
My personal bracket was busted in the Second Round when multiple upsets occurred like when #5 VCU lost to #12 Stephen F. Austin, #6 Ohio State lost to #11 Dayton, #5 Cincinnati lost to #12 Harvard, #6 Massachusetts lost to #11 Tennessee, #5 Oklahoma lost to #12 North Dakota State, and my personal favorite team in the entire tournament the #3 Duke Blue Devils lost to #14 Mercer. I had Duke going to the National Championship and beating Syracuse. But once again, in consecutive years, they have disappointed me by losing in the Second Round of March Madness.
The Third Round wasn’t any different with the upsets. #3 Syracuse lost to #11 Dayton, while #10 Stanford also pulled off the upset against #2 Kansas. #7 UConn defeated #2 Villanova. #6 Baylor defeated #3 Creighton.
I and the other 11 million people who had submitted a Tournament Bracket into ESPN have sadly failed and no one will be taking home that $1 billion dollar cash prize. To make it sound even more awful, of the 11 million brackets submitted, zero had a one-loss bracket going into the Sweet Sixteen.
As I said earlier, a $1 billion dollar cash prize would be awarded to the person who submits a perfect bracket online at ESPN. The man behind the cash bribe is Warren Buffet. Mr. Buffet ranks 4th on Forbes List of top Billionaires, with an estimated worth of $53 billion, wants to make you an offer: he’ll give you $1 billion for a perfect March Madness bracket. But as no one has a remaining perfect bracket, so no one will be taking home that $1 billion dollars.
Since my Duke Blue Devils have been sent home, I turned my attention to the Syracuse Orange who now has also been sent home. Once again I had to switch teams to root for and I went with the North Carolina Tar Heels, who was also sent home like the other two teams. As of now I would like to see Florida and Arizona in the National Championship both being #1 seeds and both playing good basketball which is always fun to see during tournament time. The Sweet Sixteen will begin Thursday, March 27th.
