Polk County Corn Growers and Crookston Fuel/Ampride team up for promotion involving ethanol-blended fuel

Flex fuel vehicle owners will have an opportunity to save money at the pump from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 27 at Crookston Fuel and Ampride thanks to the Polk County Corn-Soybean Growers Association.

Motorists with flex fuel vehicles can take 85 cents off per gallon of E85, which is a fuel blend of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline.

Motorists can also take 50 cents off per gallon of E20, E30 or E50. The discounts apply to fuel purchased up to 25 gallons.

“This is an opportunity to save money at the pump and support the local economy by filling up with homegrown ethanol,” said Greg LeBlanc, president of the Polk County Corn-Soybean Growers. “Ethanol is made from corn grown right here in the fields of northwest Minnesota. It costs less and supports local jobs.”

Crookston Fuel and Ampride is located at 1020 Highway 75 Bypass, Crookston, MN.

There are more than 300,000 flex fuel vehicles registered in Minnesota.

If you’re not sure if your vehicle is flex fuel, check the fuel lid door, consult your dealer, or visit the Clean Air Choice Team’s flex fuel vehicle website: http://www.cleanairchoice.org/fuels/e85_vehicles.cfm.
