  • A Fargo woman is angry after her 5-year-old son was forgotten for several hours on a school bus in the eastern North Dakota city.
WDAY-TV reports that the boy was one of two students left unattended on the bus Thursday after they fell asleep in their seats. That means bus drivers failed to check the vehicle as part of their protocol.
Amanda Engst says she's mad because a driver should have checked to make sure all students were off the bus. She says her son told her he fell asleep on the bus.
John McLaughlin, general manager of Valley Bus, says the buses are equipped with systems reminding drivers to check for students. He says the driver faces disciplinary action.
Engst says she hopes the driver is fired.
