  • Boys' basketball: Bearcats stun Pirates, TRF tournament resumes Mon.

  • The Pirate boys' basketball team was stunned 69-66 Friday by Kittson County Central at the 31st annual Northwest Russ Smith Holiday Classic in Thief River Falls. Saturday's games were postponed due to weather and will be played Monday.
    The Pirates led 35-32 at halftime but the Bearcats rallied to outscore Crookston 37-31 in the second half for the win.
    Junior Aaron Hollcraft had a game high 20 points, while junior Ryan Porter scored 14 points and senior Emmanuel McCullough had 12 points.
    Kittson County Central had five players scored in double figures, led by 18 points from Blayne Davis.
