  • “JOY’ was the theme for the December 12th Christmas Celebration of Our Savior’s LWML Afternoon Guild. Laurain Jurchen welcomed all and introduced the guests; Sandra Trittin, Deb Anderson, Henrietta Beiswenger, Lorna Clemenson, Judy Dragseth, Bernice Sherry, John & Liz Stueber, Tillie Gebhardt, Janice Ross and Neva Wermager. Birthday greetings were extended to the following members with December birthdays: Sandra Trittin, Bev Erdmann, Pearl Radi and Judy Ellingson. Table prayer was sung followed by a noon luncheon of delicious potluck dishes and goodies served in a very festive dining setting.
All enjoyed listening to the beautiful chimes of Our Savior’s School Handbell Choir consisting of students from grades five thru seven. Several Christmas hymns and songs were played under the direction of Laurain Jurchen.
Judy Ellingson led the Meditation for the ‘Little Red Stocking’ Ingathering which supports Our Savior’s Lutheran School. All joined in hymn singing and prayer. Red Stocking ‘gifts of love’ were placed in a large stocking which was presented to Sandra Trittin, principal of the school. On behalf of the staff, church members and all students Sandra thanked all for their wonderful gifts of support. Following the presentation the ladies were once again entertained by children from third and fourth grades singing several Christmas hymns.
Devotion “My Prayer on Christmas Day” was read responsively by groups followed by the gathering of MITES. Several hymns were sung accompanied by Naomi Johnshoy.
Special thanks was given to all for coming, pianist Naomi Johnshoy and those who contributed food, offerings and helped in any way with this Advent/Christmas Celebration. The closing hymn was “Silent Night” and all were wished a Blessed Christmas and Joy-Filled New Year.
