  •     The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has announced the appointment of Blane Klemek as northwest region assistant wildlife manager in Bemidji.
Klemek is no stranger to the Bemidji area.
In 2002, he began his career with the DNR Section of Wildlife as the northwest region private lands specialist stationed at the DNR headquarters in Bemidji. In 2005, he became the assistant area wildlife supervisor at the Bemidji area wildlife office.
He left the area in 2011 for Detroit Lakes to take the area wildlife supervisor position before returning to Bemidji in his new position at DNR northwest region headquarters.
“We’re excited to have Blane join us once again in Bemidji,” said John Williams, DNR Northwest Region wildlife manager. “He will be a welcome addition to the headquarters wildlife staff.”
Prior to his career with the DNR, he worked at the Audubon Center of the Red River Valley owned by the Audubon Society and located east of Warren, MN, and served on the Agassiz Valley Project Team for the Middle River Watershed District.
Klemek has a Master’s degree in wildlife and a bachelor’s degree in fisheries and wildlife biology from the University of North Dakota and an associate’s degree in arts from Bemidji State University. He grew up on a dairy farm in Otter Tail County.
“I look forward to serving Minnesotans in my new role with DNR Section of Wildlife - working together to conserve and manage the state’s natural resources,” said Klemek.
