A North Dakota man has been sentenced to nearly three years in prison on a federal charge of abusive sexual contact.

A North Dakota man has been sentenced to nearly three years in prison on a federal charge of abusive sexual contact.

Jerome Blackbird Jr., of Devils Lake, pleaded guilty in July to engaging in sexual contact with a minor child.

U.S. District Judge Ralph Erickson sentenced Blackbird to 33 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release.

Blackbird was also ordered to register as a sex offender.
