  • Weeks after a similar visit by a Minnesota House committee, the Senate Capital Investment Committee on Wednesday toured the UMC Sports Center and heard the campus' pitch for the inclusion of a $15 million Wellness Center in the 2014 bonding bill. The project has been ranked #3 on the U of M Board of Regents' list of top five highest priority
projects systemwide. While in Crookston, the committee visited Dee, Inc. as well. Dee isn't requesting any funding, but Stumpf said the committtee wanted to see how the Crookston manufacturer is doing these days.
