Sons of Norway met Monday evening, October 21 at the Golden Link.
President, Sue LaPlante opened the regular meeting after the flag pledge and the singing of the three National anthems accompanied by Chrys O'Niell.
We had three guests, Barb Ross, Charles Sylvester and Bob Sylvester. Rae French spoke to the 11 members and guests about the Study Abroad program from UMC, there will be 15 students traveling to Norway in May, 2014 for a 3-week program.
There will be a special speaker, Markus Kruger, at the Crookston library on Tuesday, Oct. 29 at 1:30, to discuss aspects of the local Norwegian settlement, and how they chose their last names.
The members were invited to a Norwegian speaking class on Wednesdays at 3:30 in room 115 in Hill hall, at U.M.C. parking in lot A.
Election of next year's officers was held, and will remain the same.The rosemaling 2014 calendars are for sale at $12 and they would make beautiful gifts.
The next meeting will be the third Monday in November with lefsa and flatbread making taking place.
The Christmas party is to be December 2, 2013 at R.B.J's at 6:00 with a meal and gift exchange.
The Table prayer was sung in Norwegian and lunch was served by Janet Solheim.
