The season ends at 0-21 for the Pirates.
Ranked No. 7 in Class AA, Thief River Falls made quick work of the Pirates Thursday 3-0 (25-10, 25-6, 25-7) in the first round of the Section 8AA Volleyball Tournament in Thief River Falls, Minn.
The Prowlers, seeded No. 1 in the North Subsection, were led by 11 kills from Meleah Biermaier, ten from Brooke Yaggie and nine from Courtney Amirayan. Shelby Norlin recorded 35 assists, while Hannah Kraemer had 15 digs. Yaggie also added seven aces.
The Pirates, seeded No. 8 in the North Subsection, had 19 digs from junior Kenzie Klatt. Junior Shelby Solheim posted two kills, two blocks and three assists. Senior Emily Samuelson had three blocks, while sophomore Karlee Meyer had four aces and five digs. Junior Sydney Boike recorded two kills.
The Pirates' season finishes at 0-21. Two seniors, Samuelson and Whitney Schear, played their final high school volleyball matches.
The Prowlers advance to host No. 4 Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton in the quarterfinals today. No. 2 Roseau and No. 3 Hawley will also play today. The two South matches today are: No. 1 Perham versus No. 5 Frazee and No. 2 Fergus Falls versus No. 3 Barnesville.
