The Pirate girls' swimming team won two of three duals Tuesday in Thief River Falls, Minn., beating the Prowlers 143-129 and Grand Forks Red River 152-99 but losing to Grand Forks Central 168-107.
Pirate Haley Roed placed first in the 100 freestyle and was runner-up in the 200 individual medley. Kate MacGregor finished runner-up in the 100 butterfly and third in the 50 freestyle, while Sierra Pry placed third in the 100 backstroke.
The 200 freestyle relay team of Marietta Geist, Pry, MacGregor and Roed finished first. The Pirates also got a runner-up finish in the 200 medley relay from Pry, Thea Oman, MacGregor and Roed.
Maddie Nicholls, who has been sidelined this season with a shoulder injury, made her season debut, placing fourth with the 400 freestyle relay team of Geist, Merran Dingmann and Oman.
The Pirates are off until the North Border Conference Meet Friday, Oct. 25 in Thief River Falls.
