  • For the first time since UMC joined Division II (1999) Golden Eagle women's soccer earned a positive result on a road weekend.
    Minnesota Crookston beat MSU Moorhead Saturday 2-1 in Moorhead, Minn. to win the Highway 75 Rivalry Rock. The Golden Eagles and Northern State then battled to a scoreless tie Sunday in Aberdeen, S.D.
    The Golden Eagles now hold a record of 3-7-2 overall and 1-6-2 in the NSIC.
    UMC returns to NSIC action on Saturday, Oct. 19 and Sunday, Oct. 20 when they travel to Upper Iowa and Winona State, respectively. Saturday's match begins at 3 p.m. while Sunday's match begins at 12 p.m.

    UMC captured their first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) victory of the season and a rivalry trophy in the process. The Golden Eagles scored two first-half goals and held on for a 2-1 victory over MSU Moorhead in the battle for the Highway 75 Rivalry Rock.
    Delany McIntyre (So, M, Flin Flon, Manitoba) recorded her first goal of the season at 11:53 when she was assisted by Kelah Peterson (Jr, F, Bismarck, N.D.). Kallie Gau (Fr, M, Monticello, Minn.) put UMC up 2-0 when she scored at 36:58. McIntyre added to her point total with the assist. The Dragons got as close as they would get at 70:54 when Molly Strong scored an unassisted goal to make the final score 2-1. 
    Lexie Gauger (Fr, GK, Green Bay, Wis.) picked up the victory in net recording nine saves. Ashley Leintz recorded 11 saves for MSUM.

    The University of Minnesota Crookston (UMC) and Northern State University (NSU) battled hard through two overtimes but settled for a 0-0 tie in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Women's Soccer action today in Aberdeen, S.D. The tie coupled with yesterday's victory at Minnesota State University Moorhead gives the Golden Eagles four points on the weekend.
    Both goalkeepers had stout performances. Gauger recorded four saves and gave up only one goal on the weekend. NSU's Brittany Tietz recorded three saves.
