  • Fourth graders at Highland Elementary School of the Crookston School District went on their first field trip of the school year on Tuesday. September 24.
They went to the fairgrounds in Warren, MN and participated in the NW Minnesota Water Festival. Students moved around to different stations and listened, learned, and participated in hands-on activities around the themes of Water Quality, Flooding, Watersheds, Ground and Spring Water, and Exploration, with over 300 kids from around the area. They even got to try their hand on casting a fishing rod!
All in all, it was a fun and educational filled day! Thanks to the West Polk Soil and Water Conservation District for providing the funds for us to go!
