  • The Pirate boys' soccer team was shut out Saturday 9-0 by Little Falls in a Section 8A match in Little Falls, Minn.
    Crookston is now 3-8 against section opponents and is tied for sixth place of eight teams in Section 8A North.
    Little Falls scored five goals in the first half and put up four more in the second. Tim Infinger scored five goals, while Thomas Ball had two.
    Pirate junior goalkeeper Michael Tate recorded seven saves. Michael Hanowski had two saves in goal for Little Falls.
    The Pirates cap the regular season this week with a match today against Grand Forks Central in Grand Forks at 4 p.m., a match Tuesday in East Grand Forks against the Green WAve at 7 p.m. and a match Saturday at home against Hibbing/Chisholm at noon.
    The Section 8A Tournament starts Thursday, Oct. 10 at the site of the higher seed.
