Health announces that Sonam Kapoor, with RiverView’s Quality/Risk Department, has
been named the Employee of the Month (EOM) for September!
A big part of RiverView Health’s mission focuses on Exceptional People, as stated in that portion of the Vision and Mission Statement:
“Our people are our foundation. We employ trusted, dedicated professionals who serve with compassion, empathy and respect.’’
As part of RiverView’s desire to recognize those dedicated professionals, RiverView Health announces that Sonam Kapoor, with
RiverView’s Quality/Risk Department, has been named the Employee of the Month (EOM) for September!
Sometimes it’s hard to keep an article short because the subject has so many outstanding qualifications and accolades. That is the case with Sonam, although you won’t hear any boasting from her. There is not enough room to run all of the great comments that came in on the applications nominating Sonam. You see, Sonam was not just nominated by one individual; she was nominated by five people, all putting in separate applications!
Dawn Jackson, Beth Parnow, Dr. Afonya, Robynn Coauette and Mary Wiskur-Buss all sang Sonam’s praises in nominations.
Sonam, on the other hand, was too modest to answer the “usual’’ EOM questions, but did say of the honor:
“More than anything else, I am honored and humbled to be recognized as the Employee of the Month. My deepest gratitude to RiverView for providing me with a job I love so much and to everybody that I work with…going forward, I will try to live up to the standards of excellence I know this award stands for.’’
So while Sonam quietly accepts this honor, her fellow co-workers will shout out her praises with the following comments in her honor.
“Sonam Kapoor has been an exceptional employee since joining RiverView Health. She is responsible and dedicated to her work responsibilities.
Sonam shows great work ethics and is very motivated to do her job well. She is willing to take on additional duties.
Sonam shows that she is all about teamwork; she took it upon herself to help the physicians learn EPIC. She came in many times during the night to help Diane Erickson as she has the clinical background and understands how to direct the physicians on how to do something.
Recently she has offered to add histories into the records for the physicians that have not had the time to do this so when the patient comes in for a visit, all of the past history will be there. This is a huge item for patient care. While it is not part of her job, she knows the importance of a complete record when treating the patient.
She has been a champion with Joint Commission standards. She keeps up on the latest requirements and then passes it on to the managers to correct things.
She has worked very closely with Ryerson to assure that the workflow is the best that it can possibly be. Her knowledge in other hospitals has been a great resource in getting this project off the ground.
She is more than willing to help wherever she is needed. I have worked very closely with Sonam and if I can’t find the answer she is more than willing to stop what she is doing and help me.
Her communication skills are awesome. She will respond rapidly to emails, even when she is supposed to be on vacation. If she tells you that she will get back to you, she does with an answer for you.
Sonam always has a positive attitude. She will greet people when she sees them. She shows great respect and empathy for her fellow employees. She is always willing to listen if someone has a problem.
RiverView health is very lucky to have a valuable employee like Sonam. Her vast knowledge of health care is truly impressive.’’
“Sonam Kapoor is the greatest supervisor that I have ever had. She is very hard working, caring, and intelligent. She will always
put herself last to benefit the organization, patients and her co-workers. There are not enough words to share to describe her and what she has brought and done for RiverView. I’m sure if you were to ask any department she has helped them out in many ways, not because she ‘has to’, but because that is who she is.’’
As Employee of the Month, Sonam will receive a framed certificate announcing the honor, her choice of a RiverView Health apparel item and $100. She is also now eligible for the 2013 Employee of the Year award in December.
