Week celebrated Sept. 8-14.
Here at the SUMMIT, we will be celebrating National Assisted Living Week (NALW) September 8 – 14, 2013. Our featured theme for the week is “Homemade Happiness.” We invite you—the community at large—to join us in celebrating our tenant’s lives, as well as thanking volunteers, family members and staff at one of our “Homemade Happiness” events.
Some of the “Homemade” activities and programs our tenants will enjoy throughout the week include sampling homemade doughnuts, jewelry making and various needle work demonstrations, old time music, krum kaka baking, made to order omelets and much more.
Homemade Happiness celebrates the bond created by staff, tenants and families as we build warm, welcoming and vibrant homes.
NALW was established in 1995 by the National Center for Assisted Living for providing a special opportunity to bring together tenants, families, employees, volunteers and the surrounding community to celebrate tenants and the services provided by the staff within assisted living communities. Every year, the week long celebration begins on Grandparent’s Day.
Homemade Happiness events help us to say “thank you” to our assisted living tenants, many of whom have made significant contributions to the region as parents, grandparents, volunteers and workers of every capacity.
