Twenty-nine-year-old Jetaun Wheeler is charged with second-degree murder in the fatal beating of the 58-year-old man in their Shorewood home. Authorities have not identified the victim.
A criminal complaint says that when investigators asked Wheeler about the man's disappearance, she told them he had taken the bus to Chicago. Detectives say when they searched the couple's house Aug. 21, they found a bloodied piece of carpeting under Wheeler's mattress. A blood spatter led them to the garage where they found the man's body in the freezer.
Authorities tell the Star Tribune they're looking for Wheeler's three children, believed to be 10, 8 and 7.
