It's not too late to sign up.
So far about 40 adults and kids have registered for the inaugural Crookston Triathlon, which will be held Saturday at the Crookston Pool.
"Over half have come in the last two weeks," said event organizer Dan Erdman. "We have had a lot of late entries. We will take them until 9 a.m. (Saturday). We ask that they register online.
"The weather looks absolutely perfect," Erdman continued. "It's going to be really good running and biking weather. It should go smoothly on Saturday."
A kids division (16 and under) will be held with distances of 50-meter swim (two lengths of the pool), 2.4-mile bike ride and 1.2-mile run.
The adult division (17 and over) features a 400-meter swim (16 lengths of the pool), 14-mile bike ride and a 3.2-mile run.
There is also a relay division of men, women and mixed divisions.
Today, Friday from 5:30-8 p.m. there will be an AYCE Pasta Meal served at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for kids. There will also be race check-in during the meal.
Saturday's check-in begins at 8 a.m. at the pool with pre-race announcements at 8:45 a.m.
The Altru Clinic Kids Division begins at 9 a.m. with heats three minutes apart.
The RiverView Health Adult Division begins at 10:15 a.m. with heats running ten minutes apart. An awards ceremony will be at approximately 1:30 p.m. for all divisions.
