  •     The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Camp was recently held on the beautiful University of Minnesota Crookston campus.
Each camper is sponsored by their local Rotary club and this year there were 148 RYLA campers that were sponsored by 56 Rotary International Clubs from District 5580.  Amber Trostad, Heidi Shol, Torrie Greer, Carly Welter, Emma Wilder, and Cody Klamm were sponsored by the Crookston Rotary Club.
Most of the students that participated in this years RYLA camp will be High School seniors in 2013-2014.  Camp RYLA’s mission is to provide outstanding high school students with a variety of educational and recreational activities.  These activities provide numerous opportunities for leadership and team building, and they are designed to expand, improve, and refine the participants’ leadership skills.  RYLA campers are sponsored by their local Rotary Club.  Campers are hosted by the Crookston Rotary Club, Rotary International District 5580, and UMC.  The students stay in the residence halls on campus during this week-long program.  Information about camp RYLA is available by calling 218 464-1213 or at district5580ryla.org.
