Sims says mold issues made it impossible to utilize any longer.
With the U of M, Crookston no longer home to a dairy cattle herd, the dairy barn on the eastern edge of campus was demolished Tuesday. Due to mold issues and an expensive price tag to make the facility useful again, Northwest Research and Outreach Center Director Albert Sims said the decision was made to demolish it.
The UMC Archery Club was the most recent group to use the building, Sims said, but they were forced to leave because of the internal environment.
An improvement project would have reached into the seven figures, he said.
