Superintendent says six applied and four were interviewed.

The Crookston School District has a new band director, and Crookston High School Principal J.J. Vold on Monday told the Times that he's Chris Gough, a 2012 Gustavus Adolphus College graduate in St. Peter, Minn. who student-taught in Minnetonka schools and this past spring was a long-term substitute in the Wayzata School District.

Superintendent Chris Bates said six applicants sought the job, and that four were interviewed. Gough emerged as the top choice and accepted an offer.

Bates said he expects the school board on Aug. 12 to formally approve Gough as the successor to Christopher Brandt, who's taken a job at Brainerd High School.
