She was a Crookston native.
Barbara (Christopherson) Vallala, of Covington, Washington, and a Crookston native, peacefully moved on to join our heavenly Father on Sunday, July 7, 2013, with her loving family by her side. For the past year and half, Barbara has been an example to us all of what it takes to fight cancer gracefully and courageously.
Barbara Christopherson was born on July 26, 1964 in Crookston, Minnesota.
Barbara was the love of Kevin’s life, her husband of 23 1/2 years. She was the adoring mother to Ashley, Dominic and Victoria, whom she loved with all her being. Her kids were her greatest accomplishment and she will be their guardian angel from above. Her parents, Gale “Chris” and Yvonne Christopherson, loved their daughter for 49 years and they will forever cherish the life she blessed them with. Barbara will be dearly missed by her brother, David (Molly) and her nieces, Kelli and Sarah. Barbara is loved by many family and friends, and she has touched our lives with memories we will hold close to our hearts and cherish forever. Barbara will also be deeply missed by her special companion, Dexter, who was by her side, day and night through it all, helping to ease her pain.
The family would like to especially thank Dr. Laura Chow and all those at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance who took special care of Barbara. We could not have gone through this journey without them and we are grateful.
Please join us in celebrating Barbara’s life on Monday, July 15, 2013 at 2 p.m. at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 18207 108th Ave SE, Renton, WA. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Barb’s memory to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.
