Paul Smith and Kiefer Prudhomme each drive in 4 runs.

Kody Kawlewski had a triple for the second straight game as he and Dave Grabowski each had three hits to lead the Reds to a 22-4 win over the Thief River Falls Thieves Tuesday at Jim Karn Field.

"Our offense has really come alive the last couple games," said Reds manager/player Justin Johnson. "We have a couple guys really exploding. I had a talk with Kody two weeks ago about hitting in the nine spot. He was really excited about it. He has an absolutely great attitude and so far he is tearing it up in the nine hole. Dave has been a great pick up for the Reds. He has great power and he is a great catcher. He has been absolutely on fire so far to start the season."

Paul Smith and Kiefer Prudhomme each drove in four runs.

Matt Morin earned the win on the mound, pitching six innings and allowing two earned runs on four hits and one walk. Kiefer Prudhomme pitched two hitless innings in relief, striking out three, while his brother, Noah Prudhomme, pitched the final inning, allowing two earned runs.

"Matt has really brought his A-game to the table," Johnson said. "His offense needs to come around and he knows that and it will. He's a true baseball player. The defense has been good behind him. His ERA is really good. We are kind of looking to him to ride his back come playoff time if he's still healthy."

The win is Crookston's second straight as it improves to 2-5 this season. Both wins avenged losses earlier this season. In their first five games this season, the Reds recorded 37 hits. In the two wins they have pounded out 33 hits.

"Everybodies sticks last night were absolutely alive," said Johnson. "To start to maybe peak now would be great. Kiefer played absolutely fabulous. Noah threw one great inning. It is positive to see the pitching coming around because that was our biggest fear coming into the year. Dillon Nelson is coming around and it’s nice to fill him into a rotation spot.

The Reds will travel to Fertile Sunday, June 23 to face the Bees in a doubleheader.
